ISCS meeting 26th January 2023: Save the date!
Our next annual ISCS meeting will be held online (ZOOM) on Thursday 26 January 2023 from 8:00 to 10:00 am GMT. On the agenda is the collaboration with other ICOMOS SC and WG and the installation of ISCS Focus Groups. More info in due time.
15th International Congress on Deterioration and Conservation of Stone
The PSC for the International Congress on Deterioration and Conservation of Stone invites applications for the organization of the 15th edition of this leading conference in our field.
The committee strongly encourages this conference to be held in a hybrid manner with proceedings preferably published both electronically and in open access. Another wish of the committee is to strategically select a series of Keynote talks that would be published in an indexed Journal, in promotional or open access. Moreover, a plan for posting online video recordings of these keynote talks should be considered. An option for this could be the ISCS from ICOMOS. Further to this, we invite the organizers to consider holding a one-day PhD course the day before the conference begins. Many of the interventions could be based on expanded versions of the keynote lectures.

Call for ISCS Focus Groups
One of the new objectives of ICOMOS-ISCS for the next three years is to broaden and strengthen the links within the stone conservation community in order to meet the current challenges. We stressed the need to work together as a community on specific themes in order to achieve concrete and applicable results. ICOMOS-ISCS is ready to set up and support focus groups composed of professionals with diverse skills and ages, in order to have more impact on the practice and science of stone conservation in the future.
The key themes of these working groups can be proposed by ISCS members representing the stone conservation community. Proposals should be submitted to iscs@icomos.org. What are the themes that for you represent the new challenges, research, practice and policy priorities of stone conservation and IPBM in which you want to be involved?
The selection of themes for the focus group will be discussed during the next ISCS meeting in January 2023.
